Bridgerton, your fave soapy period piece, is getting a second season
It’s not a guilty pleasure if you ain’t guilty
A mere month since its release, Netflix has announced that the Shonda Rhimes-helmed ‘Bridgerton‘ series is officially getting a second season.
The period piece took the Internet by storm since its December 25 release. It follows the scandalous romantic escapades of the Bridgerton siblings, with a hearty mix of Jane Austen-esque romance drama and ‘Pretty Little Liars‘ whodunnit (whowroteit?) mystery.
‘The incomparable cast of Bridgerton will return to production in Spring 2021,’ the show’s Gossip Girl AKA Lady Whistledown announced via Twitter.
Dear Readers, I dare say this may be the most exciting edition of my column yet… pic.twitter.com/jwOJwl6zQi

‘However, gentle reader, before you set the comments section alight with requests for more sordid details, know that I am disinclined to report on the particulars at this time. Patience, after all, is a virtue.’
If the show takes true from the books of the same name, the second season could focus on the Bridgertons’ eldest son Anthony, as *spoiler* the end of the first season saw him try to patch things up with his opera singer mistress Siena. Yeah, good ‘ol 1800s drama.
Netflix has yet to drop an official release date, but The Hollywood Reporter confirms that production will continue this 2021 in London, England.
