Neil Gaiman reveals cast for Netflix’s ‘The Sandman’

More than a year after teasing some development, Neil Gaiman has dropped the first look at the cast for Netflix’s upcoming ‘The Sandman’ series – and it looks pretty legit. Game of Thrones alumni Charles Dance and Gwendoline Christie will portray occultist Roderick Burgess and Hell’s ruler Lucifer Morningstar.

Boyd Holbrook (Narcos, Logan), Vivienne Acheampong, Asim Chaudhry, and Sanjeev Bhaskar make up the rest of the cast. English actor Tom Sturridge will portray Dream, also known as Morpheus, who serves as the protagonist of the comic book of the same name.

Aside from the cast, Gaiman previously shared that he had done some work on the series, with Netflix having already ordered a season two ahead of the title’s premiere. While details remain scarce, the synopsis on IMDB reads:

‘A wizard attempting to capture Death to bargain for eternal life traps her younger brother Dream instead. Fearful for his safety, the wizard kept him imprisoned in a glass bottle for decades. After his escape, Dream, also known as Morpheus, goes on a quest for his lost objects of power’.
