Spotify could soon play songs based on your feelings
I’m in a glass case of emotion
Spotify has had its fair share of brilliant music ideas in the past, like rolling out lyrics and a rumored karaoke feature that Pinoys are prob still waiting for, but this time they’re catering to the softbois in all of us.
Per BBC, the streaming app has patented a technology that can analyze its users and suggest tunes based on ‘emotional state’ along with their age, gender, and accent.
It will apparently determine your ‘intonation, stress, rhythm’ as clues as to whether you feel was ‘happy, angry, sad or neutral’. Sounds creepy, but what isn’t these days?
‘What is needed is an entirely different approach to collecting taste attributes of a user, particularly one that is rooted in technology so that the above-described human activity is at least partially eliminated and performed more efficiently,’ Spotify shared through the patent.
‘It is common for a media streaming application to include features that provide personalized media recommendations to a user.’
Meanwhile, the new patent will also serve as a quick alternative to Spotify’s current song suggestion system, as it makes users ‘tediously input answers to multiple queries’ about themselves.
Aside from mood, Spotify can also play music according to one’s analyzed social setting like ‘alone, small group, party.’
Wonder if they can see ‘lonely bedroom of 1’
