Rebecca Black just dropped a 2021 ‘Friday’ remix

A self-aware reboot

10 years ago, the Internet mercilessly bullied 13-year old Rebecca Black for having fun with her friends. Not much has changed in terms of the online wildfires, but Black has come out through it all stronger (and way hotter).

The now-23-year-old has dropped the ‘Friday (Remix)‘, a revisit of the 2011 cheesy hit that made her go viral. With a mishmashed beats, a chipmunked voice, crazy strobe lights, and lots of memes, the whole track is honestly a fever dream.

But okay, we’re here for it – the girl has already been through the wringer. It’s also strangely apt for the sh*tshow of the past few years.

‘I’d had the idea to do this remix of Friday for years leading up to now, but honestly it was also mildly insane for me to think anyone else would want to be a part of it,’ Black shared in a statement, as the song is also joined by rappers Dorian Electra, Big Freedia, and 3OH!3.

‘As I started talking about it with other artists and producers, I couldn’t believe how stoked people were about it. I am thrilled to have some of my favorite artists (and people) as a part of this moment.’

If you ever want to go back to the cringe-inducing days of 2011, but as a crackhead, check out ‘Friday (Remix)‘ here:
