‘Ang Probinsyano’ is mercifully ending this April

After more than five years of explosions, unnecessary zoom-ins, and Cardo’s death fake-outs, ‘Ang Probinsyano’ will finally air its last episode this coming April.

The news was revealed by Alex Brosas for Inquirer.net.

‘A source told us that the final taping week is already scheduled and many of the cast members are already aware that the show will already have its finale next month.’, reads an excerpt of the scoop.

Ang Probinsyano’s end is a merciful one, IMO. What started out as an adaptation of the 1996 film by Fernando Poe Jr, with an interesting concept of a twin taking over the life of his dead brother, soon spiraled into recycled plotlines of Cardo being betrayed, dying, then miraculously being revived again.

The show itself became like a rite of passage for many, many ABS-CBN stars, with Coco Martin being the consistent face of the franchise. Thank you, Cardo, for the countless memes and a sabaw-screaming Baron Geisler, but this one’s long overdue.
