SB19 gets comfy in their own skin in new single ‘What?’

Being comfortable in your own skin is a dream goal for just about anyone, and SB19 is no exception. Since debuting in 2018, the P-pop group has endured its fair share of criticism and love. Fast forward three years later, the boys have learned to embrace both and proudly raise their flag in their new single ‘What?’.

The track and the MV features a notably more aggressive approach, both in style and music, a departure from the band’s more glossy and anthemic ballads in ‘Get in The Zone’. According to songwriter and lead vocalist Pablo, the shift aims to prove that SB19 is ‘not just here to play games and act cool’.

‘A lot of people still doubt us, denouncing everything that we do and everything that we’re trying to achieve. We love what we do, that’s why we do it respectfully’, said Pablo, who sees ‘What?’ as a theme of self-love and empowerment.

‘Each of us has our own flag. We should be proud of it and raise it as much as we can. As SB19 and as individuals, we know that we’re not the best at everything, but that shouldn’t stop us from what we want to achieve.’

With ‘What?’ serving as a taste of SB19’s highly anticipated second album, here’s hoping we see more of the group’s ‘zero f*cks given’ approach towards their critics.

After all, the haters might have their say, but at the end of the day, SB19 continues to undeniably cement their own place in the OPM genre.
