Ayala Museum’s 8-bit digital tour will allow participants to explore the PH
If you miss going on museum dates or exploring art pieces during your spare time, this tour will bring back the good times in the comfort of your home. Ayala Museum announced on their social media pages that they would be hosting an online museum tour – and the best part is it’s free!
Ayala Museum, in partnership with Globe, will roll out a digital experience in honor of International Museum Day. It’s called “Where is the Filipino?”, an interactive 8-bit tour that will allow participants to navigate around the Philippines digitally.
A post on Ayala Museum’s Instagram page says that the unique online experience will take you through multiple stops in the country. Participants will also encounter “indigenous and ethnographic artifacts from the Ayala Museum collection along the way” that show Filipino craftsmanship and creativity. They also posted a 12-second sneak peek of the tour on Twitter.

Ayala Museum will hold the tour on Gather.Town, an online social platform where users can interact with each other through an avatar as they explore a 2D map, as per PhilStar Life. The museum used the platform to map out over a hundred museum objects on the Philippine map.
The event will operate from May 21 to May 30. Interested participants can pre-register for the live guided tour here. For those interested in the self guided tour, it will be open to the public on the 22nd, with no booking required.
