Spotify will roll out a podcast transcription feature soon
Apart from listening to our favorite songs, tuning into podcasts is also a great way to take a breather. On May 18, Spotify announced that they will roll out multiple updates in the coming weeks, including auto-generated podcast transcripts.
The auto-transcription feature automatically generates transcripts for Spotify Original and Exclusive podcasts for both iOS and Android users, as per the app’s official newsroom post. The users will be able to read the transcribed words from the podcast on their phones, with or without sound.
Spotify’s blog post also shares that this is just the beginning of their new podcast feature and welcomes user’s feedback. They also stated, ‘We care deeply about creating an inclusive experience, which is why we’re working with people with disabilities to conduct user research and plan to evaluate and assess our ideas on an ongoing basis.’
The audio streaming app’s other updates include a change in the look of its buttons and tweaking the color, according to Yahoo. This feature was designed to make it easier for visually impaired users to manage. It can also help users who have low lighting or screen reflections. Another update also gives the users an option to adjust their text size, advancing the app’s overall experience.
