Blue’s Clues featured a drag queen on the show for Pride Month

Nickelodeon animated series Blue’s Clues is known for its interactive way of teaching kids easy problem solving and teamwork. The show’s recent YouTube video features a popular drag queen teaching its viewers about the LGBTQ+ community in honor of Pride Month.

On May 28, Blue’s Clues invited Ru Paul’s Drag Race star Nina West to sing along and highlight inclusivity through a song. It shows a cartoon version of West with a Pride parade in the background composed of families that feature members of the LGBTQ+ community. He sings about two mothers, two fathers, non-binary, trans members, allies, bi, pan, and so on.

West sang along the tune of the nursery rhyme “The Ants Go Marching.” Part of the lyrics goes, ‘Families marching one by one, Hurrah! Hurrah! This family has two mommies, they love each other so proudly, and they all go marching in the big parade.’

The blue pup and host Josh Dela Cruz also has a mail time video that features kids sending in their entries on topics that revolve around Pride Month. The kids showed drawings of different flags that represented the LGBTQ+ community and how their family celebrates Pride Month. One sender shared an artwork of attending a Pride parade with a sibling.
