Facebook and Reuters launched an e-learning course for journalists
While there are many free online courses over the course of the pandemic, some organizations still continue to provide more. If you want to strengthen the foundation of your journalism skills or have plans on taking a refresher, Facebook and Reuters’ project can be the solution. The tech giant and multimedia news provider launched a free online journalism course in eight countries, including the Philippines.
The Facebook Journalism Project and Reuters Digital Journalism Course partnered to produce free online training for journalists. Both Facebook and Reuters posted an official announcement on their respective platforms.
The course will first launch in the Philippines, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and India. It will be available in English, Thai, and Sinhala, with more regions and languages to follow in the coming months.
The course description explains that it will cover modules on Digital Newsgathering, Verification and Reporting, Publishing Effectively on Social Media, and Wellness and Resilience. It will also cater to both new and experienced journalists alike, using compelling learning materials and hands-on tutorials.
Reuters Executive Editor Gina Chua shared in a statement, ‘The Reuters Digital Journalism Course offers best practices from Reuters journalists around the world to provide the foundation for sound journalism, whether you’re a budding journalist or a seasoned one looking for a refresher.’
Participants will earn a certificate once they accomplished the course. The course can be accessed by clicking here.
