Underrated bops you missed: dia mate, Dom Guyot, Adie, Sepia Times

Welcome to ICYMI, We The Pvblic’s weekly spotlight on fresh, under-the-radar drops you might’ve missed.

It’s been a while since our last compilation of underrated bops, but as with every comeback, ours holds a lot of promise. For this week, we have under-the-radar drops from dia maté, Dom Guyot, Adie, and Sepia Times.

dia maté (Dream)

dia maté is slowly becoming one of our fave go-to’s when we just want to chill and escape the mundanity of reality. Following a collab with CRWN, dia taps Blaster Silonga of IV of Spades and Sam Marquez of One Click Straight for Dream; a melancholic and tropical-sounding track about the hesitation of committing to someone you love due to being burned in the past.

In a post-Bumble world, where ghosting and breakups are seemingly the norm, Dream has us saying ‘same’.

Dom Guyot (Unbeloved)

Another familiar face on our list, Dom Guyot returns with his full-length album, Unbeloved.  We made no secret of how much we liked Dom’s spectacular vocals and that hypnotizing melody. But Unbeloved has officially placed us in the stan category.

The standout track Ambitions have us busting out the ‘WOOs’ and ‘OMGs’ with every beat and inflection, amplified by the duet with the equally excellent up-and-comer, Jolianne. A true hidden gem.

Adie (Paraluman)

Just as beautiful as its inspo, actress Angelina Cruz, Paraluman sees Adie creating a harmonious melody of guitar and piano that is just charmingly disarming. The gorgeous sound perfectly captures its innocent message: falling in love is actually a pretty blissful feeling.

Sepia Times (The Art of Human Part 1)

We’ll always get behind artists who challenge the boundaries of what we’ve come to know as Original Pinoy Music. Not only does it expands the genre’s horizons, but it’s simply a pleasure to hear something different.  The Art of Human, a full-length album by Cebu-based artist Sepia Times, is one such example.

The first of a two-parter, The Art of Human Part 1 breathes fresh life into the genre with its vulnerable and personal lyrics dressed in a futuristic, EDM vibe. Breakfast is an obvious standout.
