Local ‘Spider Man’ got vaccinated for COVID-19 in Marikina City

A local from Marikina City wore a Spider-Man suit and went to a vaccination site to get jabbed for COVID-19. The face behind the suit isn’t Tom Holland, but his touching story shows that he’s living a similar experience as Peter Parker.

When local Spider-Man, a.k.a. Alfred Dizon, arrived at the vaccination facility wearing his suit, the staff thought that he was there to pull a prank at first, as per GMA News. He eventually presented his vaccination card, and the staff assisted him afterward.

In a report by Inquirer, Dizon revealed that he was clad in a Spider-Man suit to entertain the people in the facility once he gets vaccinated. The 31-year-old happens to be a college student at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Marikina.

‘The real story why I wear Spider-Man [ay dahil] halos pareho kami ng story.’ Dizon shared. ‘I almost lost all of my loved ones, eto ‘yung naisip ko para mag-cope sa mga pinagdadaanan ko since 2019 and 2020 until now.’

(The real story why I wore this Spider-Man outfit is because we almost have the same story. I almost lost all of my loved ones. This was what I came up with to help me cope with what I was going through since 2019.)

Dizon continued sharing his Peter Parker-like story by narrating how he lost the people closest to him in a short amount of time. His grandmother passed away in 2019, followed by the death of one of his brothers five months after. He hit another rough patch in 2020 when his eldest brother and father also passed away.

Despite everything he’s been through, Dizon tries to stay optimistic. He said to Inquirer, ‘I wear the Spider-Man suit so others will not see me sad and I want to see people especially the kids, it makes me feel good seeing other people happy despite this pandemic.’
