This candle ‘smells like capitalism’ and is sold for over P100,000
Scented candles are pleasing to people’s sense of smell. From jasmine, gardenia, and vanilla scents, there are also unorthodox fragrances. Case in point: ‘anti-establishment’ and pop culture brand named Flaming Crap released a Smells Like Capitalism candle. It’s priced at £2021 or approximately P140,431.
Flaming Crap injected some fun as they described Smells Like Capitalism’s scent as “an aroma of musky leather aroma with notes of Great British sterling kept in an off-shore account.” It has a 30-hour burn time and is made from vegan soy wax and recycled materials.

The ‘cupidatas’ (greed) candle was inspired by Gwyneth Paltrow’s luxury brand Goop with its own eccentric candle called Smells Like my Vagina. Aside from claiming that it managed to capture what capitalism smells like, Flaming Crap mentioned that the candle’s profits would be donated to homeless charities around the United Kingdom.
