Slide into DMs more swiftly with Twitter’s new improvements
You have probably received a sorry-wrong-send message from other people or maybe did the mishap yourself at one point. Twitter seems to have addressed this problem with its latest DM updates. The microblogging’s support account announced that it would provide easier Tweet sharing, better navigation in a convo, and more.
In a separate post, the platform stated that it would prevent users from sending a Tweet to several people and accidentally make an awkward group chat. It said, ‘Now you can share the same Tweet in up to 20 different DM convos, separately.’
No more (awkward) accidental group chats when you DM a Tweet to multiple people. Now you can share the same Tweet in up to 20 different DM convos, separately.
Rolling out on iOS and web, and soon on Android. (2/5) pic.twitter.com/oHYseF3EJE

The DM updates also include a “quick-scroll” button, where users press a down-button arrow that will allow them to jump to the latest message. There will also be “double tap” and “long press” options to react to certain chat bubbles. For the latter one, tap “Add reaction” from the menu to choose an emoji that matches your expression.
Another tweak included in the update is DM timestamps, which will group a series of messages within a single convo based on the date to reduce the “timestamp clutter.” The following DM improvements will roll out in the coming weeks, and they will be available for both iOS and Android users.
