BLACKPINK’s Lisa beat Rosé and Taylor Swift with her two world records

Lisa is BLACKPINK’s third member to roll out a solo album, which caused blinks to go wild when it dropped last September 10. Apart from trending online during the launch of her album, the K-pop star also managed to achieve two Guinness World Records (GWR).

The 24-year-old released her first single titled LALISA, which came from the album of the same name, and it instantly became the ‘most viewed YouTube Music video by a solo artist in 24 hours.’ It garnered 73.6 million views on the same day.

GWR said in its post about Lisa’s achievement, ‘It has topped Taylor Swift’s single Me! released back in April 2019, which gained 65.2 million views in the 24 hour time period.’

Fellow BLACKPINK member Rosé also released a solo album earlier this year. Her music video for On The Ground gained 41.6 million views, which was the most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a solo K-pop artist. However, that record is now broken by Lisa.

As a band, BLACKPINK also scored world records together as they received the titles ‘most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours’ and the ‘most viewed music video in 24 hours’. But these records were broken by another K-pop group BTS for its chart-topping single Dynamite.

The quartet received several awards together such as the People’s Choice Award, a Teen Choice Award, and an MTV Video Music Award. They are also ambassadors of different fashion houses including Jennie for Chanel, Lisa for Celine, Jisoo for Dior, and Rosé for Yves Saint Laurent.
