‘Pampanga’s Best’ OG tocino founder Lolita Hizon passes away

Tocino is ranked as one of the best Filipino food according to an international cuisine website. Most households in the country consider it as a breakfast staple, and some might have bought theirs from the iconic Pampanga’s Best brand. However, the company recently announced on Facebook that its founder Ma. Leticia Lolita Olalia Hizon passed away due to renal failure.

The Matriarch was 84 years when she died on October 2, Saturday. She will be missed by her husband, Angelo Hizon Jr., their 12 children, 61 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, thousands of employees, and countless friends.

The post also added, ‘The woman in the logo of the Philippines’ iconic brand has joined our Creator. Her smile, charisma, and love for people has made a mark in the food industry. Her original Tocino remains the top food choice of every Filipino.’

Referred to as Apung Lolet by her loved ones, Lolita Hizon was a philanthropist in her San Fernando and Bacolor community, where she served selflessly throughout her life. She is also the woman who refined the formula and processing of the iconic tocino that became a national favorite.

At present, Pampanga’s Best manufactures eleven core products such as Tocino, Hotdogs, Longaniza, Ham, Bacon, Tapa, Burger Patties, Corned Beef, Embotido, Barbecue, and Nuggets.
