Vaxxed art and history enthusiasts can visit the National Museum soon
There are a lot of places to explore around the metro, but the pandemic had to put those plans on pause. If heading to the National Museum of the Philippines (NMP) is on your list, then good news awaits you since it’s set to reopen to the public starting October 19. Only fully vaccinated individuals will be permitted to enter in a limited capacity.
The museum’s visiting schedule will be from Tuesdays to Sundays from 9 am to 12 pm for the AM session (cut-off time is 11 am). The next half will be from 1 pm to 4 pm for the PM session (cut-off time is 3 pm).
Once you have an ideal date in mind, it’s required to reserve online at least a day before your visit. You can book a tour through NMP’s website, where you can reserve a slot for yourself or for a group limited to five persons only. The confirmation will then be sent through email. The post emphasizes that walk-in visitors will not be entertained.
The NMP has four flagship museums that you can visit namely the National Museum of Fine Arts (NMFA), National Museum of Anthropology (NMA), and the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH). The National Planetarium (NP) is temporarily closed because it was recently decommissioned.
The museum will follow safety health protocols and the guidelines imposed by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases as Metro Manila shifted to Alert Level 3.
