SB19 now ties a Billboard record with BTS

Filipino boy band SB19 is making waves again as they set another record. For the sixth time, their track Bazinga landed the number one spot on Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs Chart. The OPM track is now tied with BTS’ hit song Butter for holding the most number of weeks at the top spot.

According to Billboard, the P-pop group’s track has garnered 4.2 million Twitter mentions during the weeks of January 7 to 14 tracking alone. It also continued its momentum after the premiere of its official music video in October. The group’s performance of the song at the 34th Awit Awards in November also added to the buzz.

SB19 expressed their appreciation to their fans a.k.a. A’TIN on social media after hearing the announcement. One of the group’s members, Justin, also posted a tweet encouraging fans to stream the song.

Billboard’s Hot Trending Songs Chart was launched in the latter part of October 2021. It tracks the real-time ranking of music-related trends and conversations on Twitter across the globe. It also highlights talks surrounding new releases, award shows, festival moments, and more.

SB19 is composed of five members namely Pablo, Stell, Justin, Ken, and Josh. The group’s latest performance of Bazinga was at the Round Festival, an international music fest in Korea last January 9. Their number led them as the number one trend on Twitter with over 250,000 tweets.
