‘When We Were Young’ festival ignited the Internet’s inner emo phase

Many artists have passed through your playlist, but nothing hits you to the core than the ones you listened to during your formative years. The recent lineup of When We Were Younger’s festival appeared just in time to awaken the inner emo kid inside of the pop-punk fans.

Live Nation’s latest festival has gathered almost all of the 2000s emo-pop bands and singers to perform in one day. Not only that, Paramore will perform as a group again and will headline together with My Chemical Romance.

The news followed after Paramore recently announced they’re recording a new album after almost five years. Meanwhile, MCR returned to the stage in late 2019 after their seven-year hiatus. But the band is back to head on tour this 2022.

The single-day festival’s pre-sale starts on Friday, Jan 21. The ticket price starts at $19.99 (approximately P1028). But before you break out your black Converse (or Vans), you should know the catch is it will be held in Las Vegas.

Other performers that are set to bring back the sense of nostalgia are Avril Lavigne, Bring Me The Horizon, Bright Eyes, AFI, Boys Like Girls, Taking Back Sunday, Dashboard Confessional, We the Kings, Alkaline Trio, 3OH!3, Atreyu, the Ready Set, Jimmy Eat World, La Dispute, the Wonder Years, and many more. Check out the full line-up here.

It’s no surprise that the upcoming festival instantly became the talk of the internet. Some online users expressed their excitement through memes, while others are questioning why some bands weren’t included.
