Swifties heard ‘This Love (Taylor’s Version)’ debut in this show’s trailer

Hopeless romantics are in for a treat since the trailer of Jenny Han’s book The Summer I Turned Pretty on-screen adaptation just dropped. What made the release more exciting is that it’s also paired with a Taylor Swift track playing in the background. This marks the singer’s first time releasing her track This Love (Taylor’s Version).

On Instagram, Swift posted the trailer and thanked the author for debuting her latest “Version” release on the upcoming show. She said that she has “always been so proud of this song” and described it by using three pleading face emojis. The Grammy award winner also announced that the full track will be available at midnight.

This Love was originally part of Swift’s album 1989 back in 2014. This track is part of her goal to re-record her songs, after the issue of her previous record label being acquired by record executive Scooter Braun. She already made a “Taylor’s Version” of her albums Fearless and Red.

Meanwhile, The Summer I Turned Pretty is an eight-episode Amazon Prime Video series. The story is based on the book of the same title which follows the story of a love triangle between one girl and two brothers and stars Lola Tung as protagonist Belly. Viewers can binge-watch it on June 17.

Han already had one of her popular works turned into an on-screen adaptation as well. Her book series To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before was turned into three films on Netflix, where Lana Condor and Noah Centineo landed the leading roles.

Swifties can’t help but contain their excitement on Twitter. They instantly made the hashtag #ThisLoveTaylorVersion and “1989 TV” trend, while expressing their thoughts through memes.
