There are some memes that live in our heads rent-free like the image of Toddlers and Tiaras child star Kailia Posey in 2012. While the clip of her grinning from ear to ear has been forever immortalized on the Internet, heartbreaking news about the reality TV star’s death was announced on May 3.

Marcy Posey Gatterman, Kailia’s mother, confirmed the 16-year-old’s passing on Facebook. ‘I don’t have words or any thoughts. A beautiful baby girl is gone,’ reads the post.

Speaking with TMZ, Posey’s family revealed that the teenager took her own life. The statement read, ‘Although she was an accomplished teenager with a bright future ahead of her, unfortunately in one impetuous moment, she made the rash decision to end her earthly life.’

Meanwhile, DailyMail.com wrote that authorities found Posey’s body inside a car at the Birch Bay State Park in Washington, USA on May 2. At that time, reports suggested that she had a car accident, and it was unclear if another vehicle was involved.

The actress recently celebrated her sweet sixteen on April 19, roughly two weeks before her death. Her latest Instagram posts showcase her latest project called @Kailiacontortion, where she showed off a few of her gymnastic ventures.

Posey’s family also shared that she had a liking for aviation, and had plans to pursue her dreams in the entertainment industry while working on her goal of a commercial pilot’s license.
