‘F— you,’ Olivia Rodrigo and Lily Allen sings to five SC justices

Olivia Rodrigo has been using her platform beyond promoting her catchy hit tracks. She had previously teamed up with the White House to promote getting jabbed against COVID-19, and recently, she called out the US Supreme Court, which overturned the landmark ruling that established the right to abortion.

During the Glastonbury Festival on June 25, Rodrigo addressed how the SC overturned Roe v. Wade, a law that “ensures a woman’s right to a safe abortion and other basic human rights.” Rodrigo then revealed her duet with Lily Allen, as they were set to perform the English singer’s song Fuck You.

The 19-year-old said, ‘I wanted to dedicate this next song to the five members of the Supreme Court who have showed us that—at the end of the day—they don’t give a shit about freedom.’

The Driver’s License hit singer also pointed out, ‘I’m devastated and terrified and so many women and so many girls are going to die because of this.’

During Rodrigo and Allen’s powerful number, most of the people in the crowd can be seen singing along as they raised their middle fingers. Back in 2009, Allen said that F*ck You was originally written about former US President George W. Bush.

Many Olivia Rodrigo stans on Twitter were in awe over the singer’s move and one user even described it as “one of the best things that happened” in 2022. Meanwhile, other musicians and celebrities like Taylor Swift, Harry Styles, and Hailey Bieber among others, also expressed that they were against the US court’s ruling on abortion laws.
