iPhone users can finally ‘edit’ and ‘unsend’ on iMessage soon

Apple held recently held its Worldwide Developers Conference virtual streaming. During the event, it unveiled new features for the upcoming iOS 16, including the Messages update. The Internet instantly talked about it because of the ‘unsend’ button.

Apple is transforming how iPhone users send those blue chat bubbles. The tech giant stated in a news release, ‘Users can edit or recall recently sent messages, recover recently deleted messages, and mark conversations as unread so they can come back to them later.’

However, the much-awaited feature has limitations – users can edit or recall a text for up to 15 minutes after hitting send. Recently deleted messages can only be recovered for up to 30 days after deletion.

While your younger self wishes that the feature came a little earlier, SharePlay is also coming to Messages. This allows users to “enjoy synced content” like binge-watching movies or listening to songs and shared playback controls while chatting.

Apple also shared that its new iOS 16 features, like the ‘undo send’ on iMessage, will be available to older iPhones. But it’s really developed to work with the impending iPhone 14.

Apple’s forthcoming operating system trended on Twitter. Users talked about the features that they can’t wait to use, and joked about how unending messages would make them “unstoppable.” Others mentioned other updates that they wished were included.
