The Marcoses will tell ‘their side of the story’, says Sen. Imee

Back in 2020, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. called for the revision of history textbooks, which positioned their family in a bad light. But recently, Sen. Imee Marcos shared that they only want to share their “side of the story” to the public.

During the interview with ANC Headstart, host Karen Davilla asked Sen. Imee her thoughts on critics saying that their family would sweep away history. She clarified, ‘I don’t think that’s our effort at all. We will not revise anything.’

Sen. Imee continued to explain that their family will also make known the details that have “perhaps been remiss”. She added, ‘We were scared of the traditional media, of all the abuse, diatribe, the insult.’

Sen. Imee also mentioned that the viral Len-Len series was her “way of answering issues.” She explained, ‘I just couldn’t let it go. I would need to answer issues because a lie told a thousand times becomes the truth and that’s a dangerous proceeding.’

The daughter of the late dictator also jokingly told Davila, ‘It’s nice to see you’re still here in the Philippines… Akala ko mag mi-migrate ka pag nanalo ang Marcos.’

Davila then said that she was just hoping for the best for the country. Sen. Imee’s quip caught the Internet’s attention and while some say her subtle shade was funny, others found it unprofessional and immature.
