This K-Drama star revealed he missed eating ‘kwek-kwek’

If you’re a K-Drama fan who always fall into the trap of the second lead syndrome, then Hwang In Youp is no stranger. The actor recently visited the Philippines for a fan meeting through BYS Cosmetics. During his press conference, he revealed that he missed many things about the country – including street food.

The True Beauty cast member was interviewed by host Sam Oh, who also translated his answers. While foreign celebs usually mention adobo, he shared that he loves the local pineapples and mango float. He also asked her in Korean, ‘It’s kwek-kwek, right? I miss that. I used to eat that in the street.’

Apart from mentioning different Filipino food, Hwang also shared that he enjoyed his previous trips to Boracay and Cebu, but Davao City was a special place for him. ICYDK, he actually lived in Davao back when he was younger.

Hwang pursued his education in the country, where he was a Fashion Design major from the Philippine Women’s College of Davao and he also attended the Philippine Nikkei Jin Kai International School for high school. At that time, went by a simpler name, Ryan Leon.

The 31-year-old K-drama star has appeared in other shows like 18 Again, where he played the school bully Joo Ga-sung. He was also part of the Netflix series The Sound of Magic as the rich and shy role model student Na Il Deung. As of writing, he landed a leading role in Why Her? as a college student named Gong Chan.
