Missed watching ‘101 Dalmations’? Disney x Givenchy released a short animation

It’s exciting to see your fave animated characters unexpectedly diving into a whole new world. Remember when Bart Simpson flashed his butt at the Balenciaga runway? Well, Disney partnered with Givenchy and released a short 101 Dalmations film.

The 23-second flick showed iconic duo Pongo and Perdita with their puppies in Paris. It featured the River Seine, Eiffel Tower, and Arc de Triomphe. Kate Moss and Givenchy Creative Director Matthew M Williams were also seen walking with the Dalmatian family past the luxury brand’s store on Avenue George.

The villain Cruella De Vil suddenly shows up, but the Dalmatian couple’s growls were enough to keep her away. The custom hand-drawn animation that Walt Disney Animation Studios released was helmed by renowned director and animator Eric Goldberg.

Goldberg said, ‘To have the opportunity to tell a story and create new animation with the characters from 101 Dalmatians, through the imaginative and playful lens of the House of Givenchy, was an absolute dream. It was a true delight to collaborate with such talented creators to bring these beloved characters back to life in such a unique way.’

The animated short was in line with Disney and Givenchy’s limited-edition capsule collection inspired by the 1961 film.  The range includes amusing references to the beloved dogs in the form of bite-sized handbags with spots and comfy long-sleeved T-shirts.

Cruella de Vil would probably be jealous since the collab also features a streetwear-ready varsity jacket with a portrait of Perdita, distressed denim with spots, a pastel pink two-piece suit, hats, footwear, and more.
