Blackpink’s ‘Pink Venom’ is the fastest MV by a female artist to reach 100M views

Blackpink’s newest comeback, ‘Pink Venom,’  broke the record as the fastest music video by a female artist to reach 100 million views on YouTube.

The highly anticipated return of the girl group was able to surpass the former record set by ‘How You Like That,’ which took eight hours and 22 minutes to reach 100 million views, with ‘Pink Venom’ only taking five hours and 36 minutes to meet the mark.

Not only that, but ‘Pink Venom’ is also the quickest music video by a K-pop act to hit the milestone in 2022, making the comeback the fastest music video in history by a Korean act to ensure the feat.

According to YG Entertainment, the group’s agency, ‘Pink Venom’ is the girls’ most expensive music video to date and features Korean traditional instruments.

Before their comeback, Jennie, Jisoo, Rosè, and Lisa also ventured into solo activities with their promotions and Jisoo’s acting debut with Snowdrop.

Jennie will also have her Hollywood and acting debut in the new HBO series, ‘The Idol.’ The show will be joined by artists such as The Weeknd, Troye Sivan, and stars Lily Rose Depp. The show’s second teaser had just been released.

BlackPink is the only Korean girl group with four members as global ambassadors and muses of French fashion houses. Jisoo for Dior, Jennie for Chanel, Lisa for Celine, and Rosè made history as the first ambassador in 59 years for Yves Saint Laurent, also attending the Met Gala as YSL creative director Anthony Vaccarello’s guest.

Rosè has also been chosen as the global ambassador for American jeweler Tiffany & Co, whereas Lisa has just recently worked on a campaign for Bvlgari. The ‘Pink Venom’ music video featured all the girls wearing pieces from the brands.

‘Pink Venom’ is a pre-release from the group’s upcoming second album in September titled ‘Born Pink.’ The group is also about to embark on a 9-month-long tour that is set to begin in October, with the Philippine leg dated to be on March 2023.

Surely a group of stunning aces, BlackPink continues to make records and break them.
