Blackpink is the first all-girl act of this decade to make a Billboard debut at No. 1

Blackpink is the revolution!

They truly came to shut it down!

Blackpink is definitely in everyone’s area as Born Pink, the K-pop quartet’s sophomore album is their first album to land a No. 1 on the Billboard 200! The group’s previous all-time high was 2020’s The Album, which debuted at No.2.

This feat is not only momentous to Blackpink for earning their first No. 1, but this is also the first time an all-female group earned this feat since Welcome to the Dollhouse was released by Danity Kane in 2008.

Breaking records here and there, Blackpink topped the list by earning an equivalent of 102,000 album units in the US as of September 22, per Luminate via Billboard. Born Pink also debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart for having 75,500 copies sold from CD packages and digital album sales.
