As Drag Race PH finale looms, here are the most iconic and funny moments from the show so farr

An end of an era

It is a certainty that each episode of Drag Race PH and Drag Race Philippines: Untucked would birth either trending memes or iconic lines and looks from the drag queens of the season.

Since we’re nearing the end of DRPH and the final four have been named to be Eva Le Queen, Marina Summers, Precious Paula Nicole, and Xilhoutte, here’s a quick recap of the memes and iconic moments the show gave us!

Mama Pao’s “okay” meme

Of course, the host of the inaugural run gave us the first meme of the season!

The challenge of the second episode required the queens to create a sagala look with flowers. However, the judges found one of the contestants struggling with the concept.

As a known designer, Paolo asked the contestant Corazon where the flowers on her costume were.

To answer, Corazon then turned to show her costume, to which Paolo cheekily commented, “Okay.

Viñas DeLuxe’s ‘mananang-gay’ costume

The Internet was bewildered by how Viñas was able to pull off her Shake, Rattle, and Rampa runway.

Explaining her take on the concept, Viñas said, “This is my interpretation of our ‘manananggal’.”

The costume even got the attention of American drag star Trixie Mattel.

Pop Off Ate by the Flexbomb Girls!

They really popped off with the lyrics, costumes, song, and choreography! It was not only a bop but a total serve!

Each season of Drag Race allows their queens to write a verse to a song. This season’s song was Pop Off Ate where two groups made their own versions and performances.

The Flexbomb Girls consisting of Turing, Eva Le Queen, Marina Summers, Brigiding, and Lady Morgana wrote such an empowering verse with powerful lines that the judges with the week’s guest President Nadine Lustre couldn’t help but jam to.

The show’s fans also did not fail to comment on the gravity of the performance as they broke a lot of stereotypes and promoted self-love.

Turing’s line specifically was filled with body empowerment! “Katabaan di naging hadlang. Took me years to finally love this!”

Meanwhile, Eva Le Queen’s sang about knowing your own power! “You know the things that you can’t do are not the things that define you. Find your purpose in your heart and nothing can stop you!”

It was also refreshing to hear a verse in Bisaya too, said the Internet. Lady Morgana sang her whole lines in Bisaya and the queens even paid homage to Morgana’s Davaoeña roots by incorporating Mindanao folk dance steps during her part.

Ok, we hear you, queens!

Although Pink Pussy Energy consisting of Viñas DeLuxe, Gigi Era, Minty Fresh, Xilhouette, and Precious Paula Nicole failed to win the challenge, fans still commended the group for giving a noteworthy performance.

Marina Summers as former President GMA

The queens are politically aware too, purr!

If Minty Fresh’s ‘Break Free’ moment at the LeniKiko rally that Ariana Grande herself noticed wasn’t enough to prove that the queens are woke too, Marina said, ‘hold my drink’ and gave us this impersonation of former president GMA for the Snatch Game.

Tampalpuke

Another iconic DRPH Snatch Game moment was when Eva Le Queen showed up as Ruffa Mae Quinto!

Go, go, go, in true Ruffa Mae spirit did she go as she coined a new term the Internet could not get enough of through her performance.

In the segment where they were asked to complete a sentence, Eva answered, “ang sagot ko, favorite ko kasi to, tampalpuke.”

In her defense, Eva said this was real fish which is the Flounder.

Viñas’ ‘Because of the gravity inside the popcorn

Those who haven’t watched the series at first glance may be curious after seeing a clip of Viñas DeLuxe saying “because of the gravity inside the popcorn”.

However, even those who have watched episode seven of Untucked also still have questions.

Maybe because she was drunk, Viñas went over to Marina and Brigiding who were having a conversation.

Viñas then asked the pair, “Ok lang ba magtanong?” to which Marina answered her with, “Bakit nag-uusap kami tapos bigla kang..?”

Viñas responded in the funniest and most drunk way ever, “because of the gravity inside the popcorn.”

Xhihuahua and Xilhouette

Drag mother Xil is known by the show’s viewers to have that long luscious black hair (and equally long answers). When this chihuahua meme started circulating online, best bet the Drag Race fans did not hesitate to liken her to Xilhouette.

Xilhoutte and Minty Fresh’s lipsync battle

The duo even got Vice Ganda sniffling! The moment was heartwarming as instead of it being an opportunity to show how one was better than the other, it became a beautiful mother-daughter-like stage.

The fondness of the pair was oozing, and you never want to see one of them leave.

As the finale draws closer, the queens, the host, and even the judges did not fail to give us these moments to look back to. It was a great first season of Drag Race PH and the Philippine drag scene is just getting the love and attention it truly deserves.

Don’t forget to catch their finale on October 12 on HBO Go or Wow Presents Plus.
