Dolly de Leon is the first Filipino actor nominated for a Golden Globe
Dolly is nominated for the award alongside ‘Wakanda Forever’ actress Angela Bassett, the first-ever actress to receive a nomination for an MCU movie.
Apart from her Golden Globes nomination, Dolly also won ‘Best Supporting Performance’ at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards
‘Triangle of Sadness’ actress Dolly de Leon is the first Filipino actor to be nominated for ‘Best Supporting Actress’ at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards.
Presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, de Leon is up against Angela Basset for ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever‘, Jamie Lee Curtis for ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’, Carrey Mulligan for ‘She Said’, and Kerry Condon for ‘The Banshees of Inisherin’.

Directed by Ruben Östlund, ‘Triangle of Sadness’ also received a nod as ‘Best Picture’ under the Musical/Comedy category together with ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’, ‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’, ‘Babylon’, and ‘The Banshees of Insherin’.
Dolly portrays Abigail, a toilet manager in the film. Being the only one with the necessary skills to survive being stranded on a deserted island after their cruise faced doom, she is suddenly catapulted to take charge of the group with billionaire guests.
Winners of the 80th Golden Globe Awards will be announced on January 10, 2023 and held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
