‘Hoy BPI’ trends as bank is trying to resolve issues

If there is one thing the Internet could do, it is to make something trend in minutes.

Twitter users have now been sharing their sentiments with ‘Hoy BPI’ coincidentally in their tweets as if it’s been planned

Earlier today, some users of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) took to social media to air out their concerns about the bank having sudden unauthorized transactions reflected in the app.

Others chimed in saying those transactions once cross-checked were actually purchases throughout the holiday season specifically before New Year (December 30-31, 2022), but were deducted twice from their accounts. According to posts made online, amounts that were charged to cardholders vary.

The bank was quick to post a statement that they are currently working on reversing the duplicate transactions.

They also assured their account holders that their accounts are safe and secure.

Meanwhile, ‘Hoy BPI‘ is trending initially due to users sending out their frustration about the matter but is now also becoming an update keyword for other BPI account holders.

As of writing, some users report that they were able to open their accounts and check while there are those that still can’t access their accounts through the mobile app or website, and even check their balance through the ATM.
