The New Year Couple truly had the world surprised with their plot twist and the Internet decided to celebrate them through memes.
Korean superstars actor Lee Jong-suk and singer-actress IU had the world shaken when news of their relationship got revealed by the media. First reported by Dispatch, the couple is said to be dating for four months now, with friendship as the foundation of their relationship.
Shortly after the news broke out, both the pair’s respective entertainment companies High Zium Studio and EDAM Entertainment were quick to confirm that the two were indeed dating after being industry colleagues and friends for 10 years. The two met during their hosting stint at the music program ‘Inkigayo’.
According to Dispatch’s report, the new couple celebrated Christmas in Nagoya, Japan in a luxury resort. Fans could not help but swoon over how Lee Jong-suk allegedly planned the trip with IU and her younger brother. Meanwhile, fans pieced together that his acceptance speech at the 2022 MBC Drama Awards may have been about IU.
