24/7 food deliveries within Metro Manila are now allowed

Lifesaver

Our sorely-missed midnight snacks and late-night stress eating are now making a comeback. Per CNN Philippines, Metro Manila mayors have agreed to allow restaurants and food establishments to operate 24/7, which also carries over to their delivery services.

Previously, services were constrained by the curfews set by the general community quarantine (GCQ) which lasts from 8 PM to 5 AM. Manila Mayor Isko Moreno was the first to authorize all-day operations, citing the need to revive the economy and protect the livelihood of food industry workers.

But beyond our cravings, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority General Manager Jojo Garcia said that the decision is intended to serve frontliners and others who work at irregular hours.

Dine-in options will also be available, with specific guidelines being set by the cities’ respective local government.
