Nara deers in Japan are still straight-up vibing and taking over

The update we needed

Months after the deers in Japan’s Nara Park were found straight-up vibing amidst a Cherry Blossom backdrop, it seems that the herd is now taking over the town itself.

Per SoraNews24, new photos of the city of Nara now see the deers often huddling in a pretty epic natural phenomenon called ‘shikadamari’, or ‘deer gathering spot‘.

The act sees the herd gather at the same spot, at the same hour, and for the same time period every day before the night falls at around 7:00 PM.

Despite looking completely baffling, the sight isn’t actually new for the deers as they’ve been doing it for years during the summer months of July and August.

However, the complete lack of tourists this year has made it possible for the deers to perform shikadamari pretty much anywhere.

‘We don’t have an understanding of the deer numbers in the so-called shikadamari spot so we don’t really know. We can’t really say because it’s a natural phenomenon.’, Japan’s Nara Deer Preservation Foundation said regarding the number of deers in town.

With the sight still a mystery, it’s safe to say that the deers are still vibing in isolation.
