Duterte volunteers as tribute for first COVID-19 vaccine
A man of his word…?
During one of his usual late-night talks- err addresses last night, President Rodrigo Duterte shared that he’s willing to be one of the first pvblic test subjects for Russia’s COVID-19 vaccine.
‘When the vaccine arrives, I will have myself injected in public. Experiment on me first, that’s fine with me.’
ICYDK, Russia’s COVID-19 vaccine is being released to the pvblic before clinical trials are even finished. The decision has since sounded off warnings from international pharmaceutical companies, going as far as calling the unproven vaccine a hazardous ‘Pandora’s Box‘.
But hey, Duterte just trusts Russia that much.
Duterte further assured that he heavily trusts the European country with their help, calling the camaraderie a ‘friends forever’ type of thing.
‘Maligayang maligaya ako, ang Russia, kaibigan natin ito. Wala tayong away sa Russia, kaibigan natin. Ang ano nila is magbigay sila ng bakuna. Wala naman silang sinasabi na bayaran mo,’ Duterte shared.
‘Makabayad man kami sa utang ng loob sa inyo but I promise you that the Philippines and Russia would remain friends forever.’
We just have to wait and see if Duterte comes thru with his promises, as he’s had a habit of making extravagant claims before – from eating ashfall from Taal Volcano, jetskiing to Spratlys Islands to, you know, eradicating crime in 3 to 6 months.
We’ll just have to see
