Internet Explorer will soon join Yahoo Messenger in Internet heaven

Seeing as no one has probably touched Internet Explorer for years now except to download faster alternatives, Microsoft has finally made the decision to put IE out of its misery.

The tech giant announced on its site that it will officially end support for the browser on its web apps on November 30, 2020, and on its online services such as Office 365, OneDrive, Outlook, and more on August 17, 2021.

This means that continuing to use IE beyond the dates will result in a ‘degraded experience’ and even a refusal of access to said services, not that it should be of much concern.

Let’s be real here, our sadness has to do more with the legacy that IE leaves behind: the default browser that everyone loves to roast and ignore. It’s like weeping for Yahoo Messenger thru our Skype, Viber, and Zoom calls. It’s pure sentiment, really.

Microsoft Edge, launched in 2015, will pick up the slack in future Windows updates – and it’s surprisingly decent and can even hold a candle to the more popular Google Chrome. Still, thank you Internet Explorer for making our childhoods slower than it needed to be. You will be missed.
