Netflix drops ‘Play Something’ shuffle feature for your indecisive self
Thanks, Netflix
Say goodbye to the days of loitering the Netflix home screen, as the streaming giant is rolling out a shuffle feature for when you want to watch something, anything.
Formally titled ‘Play Something‘, the new feature can be seen in their main hub’s dropdown option and below the User splash screen.
When chosen, a random title will play – it could either be a show you left behind, a movie from your Saved list, or just something that’s similar to your most-watched genres.
Interesting new feature @netflix … but what kind of insane person just says, “yolo, let’s spin the Netflix wheel of fortune” pic.twitter.com/6WDJrmd7pG

Lol Netflix now has a “shuffle” button. This is something I needed that I didn’t even know I need. pic.twitter.com/JEEsF65Bc0

The brand new feature comes from the streaming giant wanting subscribers to access their recommended titles faster, without actually taking a long time and eventually going back to staring at their phones or something.
A number of people from the US have already tested out the Beta version, as Netflix shared they run the tests ‘in different countries and for different periods of time – and only make them broadly available if people find them useful‘.
Pretty soon we’ll be saying ‘Netflix, Play Something’
