Song mashup memes are the Internet’s latest karaoke hits

In this week’s episode of weird but welcome Internet brainchilds, hilarious random mashups are taking our timelines by storm – and we can’t stop singing.
The concept is simple enough: get two songs with the same beat, chord progression, rhyming words and mash them together to get the crossovers we didn’t know we need. Yeah, I guess we’re that bored now.
Artist @JMKO_music sampled it best with his renditions of the most popular memes, with unlikely mashups from Katy Perry x Bassilyo to Kris Lawrence x Kim Chiu.

Aside from the mental gymnastics involved, it’s actually a pretty clever way of finding out just how many songs are so similar to one another.
