Facebook copies OG Facebook with launch of student-only site

A real #TB

Throwing it back to its Harvard origins, Facebook is launching a new feature called ‘Facebook Campus‘ exclusively for college students.

Probably taking inspo from their 2004 ‘The Facebook’ roots, the extension will have students create separate FB account from their main ones, as it comes with a college-only newsfeed complete with events and groups specific for each university.

Working Millennials and Gen Z are shaking.

Facebook launches TheFacebook...no wait, sorry, Facebook Campus

You can only create a ‘Facebook Campus’ if you can provide a legit college email address and graduation year. It’s isn’t clear if you’ll automatically be kicked out of the feature once you leave the university though.

It also serves a nifty ‘Campus Directory’ feature where students can find schoolmates based on major, enrolled classes, professors, and more – making it all the easier to find that campus crush you’ve been lowkey stalking.

Meanwhile, ‘FB Campus’ will slowly roll out in the USA first this year, serving as a tabbed extension on our timelines like Facebook Watch and Marketplace.

The resemblance to its 2004 self is uncanny tho
