‘Sailor Moon’ is dropping its first theatrical film in 25 years
By the power of the moon
With ‘Sailor Moon‘ still being a part of everyone’s pop-culture consciousness, you prob wouldn’t expect that it’s been 25 years since we’ve seen a full-fledged ‘Sailor Moon‘ movie.
However, the upcoming two-part films ‘Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie‘ sees the Sailor gang being ushered into the 21st century movie screens for the first time since 1995’s ‘Sailor Moon S: The Movie’
The new films will be based on the fourth ‘Dead Moon’ arc of the OG manga series by Naoko Takeuchi and slated for a 2021 Japan release on January 8 and February 11, respectively.
The one-minute trailer showcases the Sailor girls back in action, opening with Super Sailor Moon and Super Sailor Chibi’s transformation scene.
Meanwhile, the film could also bring back some serious memories, as the film is designed by Kazuko Tadano, the OG character designer of the 1990’s anime. All original voice actors from the ongoing anime will also bring life to their characters.
Hope it reaches PH shores soon
