This flooded mass in Pampanga gave us ‘Crazy Rich Asian’ vibes
Crazy religious Asians
Move over Crazy Rich Asians, as photos of a flooded mass in Pampanga have made people draw parallels to the 2018 film’s iconic running water aisle scene.
With mass gatherings at a 50% capacity allowed during MGCQ, church-goers of the San Rafael Parish in Macabebe were met with ankle-length floods brought by Typhoon Quinta yesterday morning during a mass for the Feast of San Rafael.
Not being fazed by the potential risks (or just being huge Crazy Rich Asians fans), the mass continued – damp participants and all.
Though it’s no doubt a testament to the strong faith of Filipinos, some have also pointed out that staying in dirty flooded waters raises serious health concerns such as leptospirosis and hepatitis, especially during the pandemic.
Maybe bring boots next time
