ICYDK, ‘Love, Death, and Robots’ features a ‘Black Mirror’-esque concept, with each episode following a different existential post-apocalyptic narrative created with different animation styles.
‘Midnight movies, comics, books and magazines of fantastic fiction have inspired me for decades, but they were relegated to the fringe culture of geeks and nerds of which I was a part,’ shared series co-creator and ‘Deadpool’ director Tim Miller on the show’s inspo.
‘I’m so fucking excited that the creative landscape has finally changed enough for adult-themed animation to become part of a larger cultural conversation.’
Meanwhile, its first season was released back in the pre-Rona era of March 2019, as S2 production was stalled amidst the pandemic. There’s no word just yet when the second season will drop this year, as it was initially slated for a late 2020 release.
Can’t wait for more animation gold
