Never Say Die: Bongbong Marcos still wants your vote for 2022

Despite losing three times in a single election, failed Vice Presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos isn’t going anywhere. No, siree. That is according to an exchange between his spokesman, lawyer Vic Rodriguez, and Karen Davila on ANC’s Headstart.

Davila brought up Marcos’s resurgence as one of the top names in surveys for potential presidential candidates in the 2022 elections. When asked if this serves as a motivation to run for the presidency, Rodriguez opted to remain mum, only confirming that Marcos has plans to run for office next year.

‘He will be definitely running for 2022’, said Rodriguez.

‘I’m presuming not for Vice President again?’, inquired Davila, but Rodriguez refused to budge.

Senator Marcos placed second in a recent Pulse Asia Survey with 14% votes out of 2,400 respondents. He trails top contender, Sarah Duterte, with 26%. Meanwhile, the rightfully-elected VP Leni Robredo placed sixth at 8%.

Robredo, much like the rest of social media, breathed a sigh of relief and vindication when the Supreme Court finally junked Marcos’s electoral protest. The issue spanned four years, with numerous litigations and a recount in 2019, which went on to grant 15,000 extra votes to Robredo.
