This Myanmar protest has us saying ‘same’

When fighting against oppression and injustice is a regular happening in your country, sometimes you just gotta spice things up a little. Take for example, Myanmar.

Our Southeast Asian neighbor is currently in a democratic crisis after their elected leaders, notably Aung San Suu Kyi, were deposed by a military coup. Unsurprisingly, people found it uncool, given that the nation has been ruled by the armed forces for decades.

Protests have since spouted in Myanmar in a brutally creative fashion. By ‘brutal’, I mean a lot of no-holds-barred sex and dick jokes, mostly targeting the country’s military chief, Min Aung Hlaing.

Facebook group B For Boys compiled an album full of the roasts, which has since made rounds on social. Tbh, even if Myanmar’s issues are wholly separate from our own, there’s still something relatable about asking to be screwed instead of your country.
