adidas dropped a sneaker as long as the lockdown

In what seems to be another proof of our collective quarantine boredom, adidas has partnered with Estonian rapper Tommy Cash to drop the world’s longest sneaker. The pair is based on the signature Superstar model, with one shoe dressed in black and the other in white.

Taking to his Instagram, Cash seems to be just as amazed as us at this random, but admittedly eye-catching release.

‘When I said to adidas that I want to make the longest shoe in the world as our collab, they were like ‘WTF TOMMY’. But 5 months later, here we are’.

The shoes are part of adidas’ ongoing collaboration with musicians for its SUPERSTAR series. According to Cash, the B&W colorway represents his inner struggle between good and bad.

‘Both the angel and the devil live in me at the same time, two opposites that are constantly fighting with each other.’

‘So why hide one side of your personality when they can perfectly coexist with each other. Yes, these sneakers are different colors. After all, they reflect my mood, which changes every day. And I will proudly wear both versions of the iconic silhouette at the same time.

IMO, the overall design reminds me of giant clown shoes, a possible phallic joke that’s too raunchy to type, and the length of the still-ongoing Philippine lockdown. In any case, adidas assures that only a normal-sized version of the kicks will be up for sale on its site for a limited time.
