Fans petition Logan Lerman as Poseidon as ‘Percy Jackson’ casting starts

Some bit of development news for the upcoming ‘Percy Jackson’ series on Disney+: casting for the title character is officially underway. Author Rick Riordan confirmed the news on his official blog, writing that while the search still has a long way to go, the studio already has a set of criteria for its potential lead.

According to Riordan, Percy’s actor should be someone who can ‘play 12’. This is to stay faithful to the character’s arc in the books, who grows to the age of 16 by the end of the series. The role is also open to any ethnicity and orientation.

‘We are looking for the best person who can embody the character we all know and love from the books’, writes Riordan.

But while the search for Percy has only begun, fans have seemingly already decided that OG actor Logan Lerman should play his dad, Poseidon, the king of the seas. People have long lobbied for the 29-year-old to return to the franchise in some capacity, as he’s considered a fan fave despite the lukewarm reception to the film series.

What do you think? Is Logan Lerman a good fit as Poseidon? Or does he still look too young? Sound off in the comments!
