Sailor Moon Eternal will have its global debut on Netflix soon
This is not a drill: Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie is set to debut on Netflix on June 3. The two-parter will release in its entirety on the same day. The film’s arrival on the streaming platform also marks its global debut outside of Japan.
Behind the two-part anime was director Chiaki Kon, who focused on the characters’ growth as teenagers and Sailor Guardians. The director’s basis for both parts will be the ‘Dream Arc’ of the original Sailor Moon manga by Naoko Takeuchi. Below is the synopsis, as per Netflix:
‘As the new moon obscures the sun and gradually dims its light, Usagi and Chibi-Usa encounter Pegasus, who is in search of the chosen Maiden who can break the seal of the Golden Crystal. Meanwhile, a mysterious troupe called the Dead Moon Circus appears in town whose nefarious plan is to scatter the nightmare incarnations known as Lemures, seize the ‘Legendary Silver Crystal,’ rule over the moon and the earth, and eventually dominate the entire universe…’
Sailor Moon Eternal’s Part 1 and Part 2 were already released in Japan last January and February 2021. Catch a glimpse of the Sailor Guardians when you watch the official trailer below.
