Elliot Page flaunted his abs on IG and the reactions were so wholesome
Summer is nowhere near over, and adding up to the heat is Elliot Page’s recent Instagram photo. The image shows him with a big smile on his face while enjoying his time by the pool. Fellow celebrities and other people on the internet were quick to send out positive comments to the actor who came out in December.
‘Trans bb’s first swim trunks,’ Elliot captioned his photo, which garnered over two million likes in less than 10 hours. The actor is seen standing on the side of the pool wearing a pair of maroon trunks while unapologetically flaunting his abs – as he should!
Celebrities were ecstatic for Elliot, with Nina Dobrev commenting, ‘You look amazing. And most of all happy.’ Other cast and production members from The Umbrella Academy Netflix, such as Justin Min, Justin Cornwell, and showrunner Steve Blackman also hyped up Elliot by leaving supportive remarks on his photo.

On Twitter, overflowing replies to Elliot’s post were also filled with light-hearted and accepting comments. A user shared their thoughts on how wonderful it would be if every transgender person could experience gender-affirming surgery. Another tweet said that as long as public figures come out and express themselves, kids who can relate to them will have more role models. Other people used memes to express how they felt.

Whether it's Elliot Page or Demi Lovato or Sam Smith, the more different high-profile folks who come out and express it in different ways, the more role models kids will have to point to and say "that's like me!"

The Oscar-nominated actor came out as a transgender man on Twitter and Instagram last December 2020. In the post, Elliot explained that his pronouns are he/they and expressed his gratitude to the people who supported him in the long run.
‘I love that I am trans. And I love that I am queer. And the more I hold myself close and fully embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more I thrive,’ Elliot said in the post.
He continued, ‘To all trans people who deal with harassment, self-loathing, abuse and the threat of violence every day: I see you, I love you, and I will do everything I can to change this world for the better.’
Elliot is set to continue playing the role of Vanya Hargreeves in The Umbrella Academy series, according to Variety. Netflix renewed the series for a third season in November.
