Olivia Culpo perfectly sums up every Filipino’s reaction to Miss Universe 2021
Given that the Miss Universe pageant is basically the Super Bowl in the Philippines, it’s understandable that Filipinos are heartbroken with the news that Rabiya Mateo failed to get into the Top 10. Some diehards shouted highway robbery, while previous winners Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray were quick to applaud Rabiya’s efforts and journey.
It could be recalled that a tearful Rabiya apologized after receiving comments for her divisive national costume, adding that her stockings were filled with blood during the event.
Rabiya you made us so proud! We know you put your heart into this and we love you! Mabuhay ang Pinay! #MissUniverse

Woooow this year is intense!! Sending Rabiya all of our love! She made our country proud! 11 Year consecutive semi-streak Pilipinassss #MissUniverse

But in the midst of the play-by-play commentary by Filipino pageant fans, one personality stood out: Miss Universe 2012 winner, Olivia Culpo. The beauty queen, who was this year’s host alongside Mario Lopez, became the butt of jokes after her supposed low-energy performance, which drew comparisons to the more-beloved Steve Harvey.
Screenshots of Olivia soon turned into a meme that represented dour moments, such as getting up for Mondays, starting the day without a cup of coffee, and skipping out on breakfast.
However, following Rabiya’s early exit, the tables soon turned, and Olivia became the representation of every Filipinos’ reaction to the pageant results.
