Nesthy Petecio joined Twitter, and her confused posts are actually relatable
With all the challenges that Filipino boxer Nesthy Petecio endured, you wouldn’t imagine her being fazed with one thing: Twitter.
Petecio entered the app to ask for a request before her upcoming match and shared that it will be on Saturday, July 31. She said, ‘need your prayers po… salamat po.’
In another post, Petecio quoted a tweet showing a photo of her hugging Irish Magno after the fellow boxer lost to Thailand. She narrated the joke between them and said she asked for a kiss, but Magno wanted to go for a hug instead.
The 29-year-old athlete seemed to be overwhelmed with the requests for a follow back from rabid supporters, jokingly tweeting, ‘[Nakakapangsisi] kung bakit [pinasukan] ko to.’
Hidilyn Diaz joined the fun and replied to Petecio’s tweet by welcoming her to the microblogging site. The boxing bet currently gained almost 7,000 followers as of writing.

The Davao-based boxer won against Colombian boxer Yeni Arias Castaneda in the featherweight quarterfinals at the Kokugikan Arena. This means Petecio is one round away from securing another medal of the Tokyo Olympics.
Petecio’s win on Wednesday marks her as the first Filipino boxer to land a podium finish in the Olympics and the first to win a medal since Onyok Velasco brought home silver during the 1996 Atlanta Games.
